Always Apply Lipstick Before Leaving the House

I have always lived by the maxim, you should always look your best whenever you are outside your home. I was not one of those girls who wore pajamas to class in college. A casual day for me was jeans and t-shirt, with perfectly quaffed hair. I ALWAYS make sure I look together when I leave the house, even if it is to walk the dog or run to the store to pick up milk. If you are in public, you should look your best.

The reason for this....you never know who you will run into. And you don't want to see a client, old friends, or ex looking like a hot mess.

Last night was a perfect example of this. I went to a small cocktail party, where my girl date ditched me. I didn't know a soul there...but that has never stopped me from socializing. When across the courtyard I recognize this girl. It turns out it is my old neighbor Amy, who moved away when I was 10 years old. I have not seen this girl since! Fortunately, I had a really cute outfit on. Unfortunately, I had not looked at the weather report, and it was 85 degrees outside and I was wearing a sweater. So I ended up all sweaty and grimy. Ick. Not the impression you want to give a girl who you haven't seen in 15 years.

I wanted to come off polished and perfect...and instead I looked uninformed and icky.

So I repeat, always look your best. Be on your A game...because you never know who is watching.

On a more pleasant note, it was nice to catch up with an old friend. I am not sure I will see her any more than around the JLW...but my mother got a kick out the story.
